A steadier way to talk — and listen
Couples Counselling in Maple Ridge at West Coast Counselling is practical and paced. We are trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which looks at friendship, conflict patterns, and the small daily habits that keep a partnership warm — or slowly erode trust.
In session, each person’s thoughts and feelings get airtime. The goal is not for one partner to “win,” and not for the counsellor to take sides. We work on communication, finding the friendship again, problem-solving, and learning how to fight fair when hard topics come up.
Couples often come when…
- The same fight keeps restarting with different words
- Intimacy, trust, or emotional safety has slipped
- Parenting, work stress, or a life transition is pulling you apart
- You still care about each other — and want tools before resentment hardens
